Rushden & District Photographic Society

We are a progressive club whose aim is to further the interests and skills of our members. We offer a full range of activities, with regular lectures on all aspects of the photographic arts and sciences. There are also competitions in all types of photography, and help and advice is always available.

There are also practical sessions held through the year, providing the opportunity to work in studio conditions and other picture-taking situations. We also hold various events during the year for those who wish to develop their photographic skills. In addition, there is a summer programme of evening outings to places of local photographic interest, and a number of social events.

We regularly hold competitions with other clubs in the area. We are members of the East Anglian Federation and also of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. Through these associations we take part in regional and national competitions.

We are a friendly club and are always keen to welcome new members who may initially attend on a trial basis for three meetings. There is no need to have any particuar type of camera or to be at any special skill level. All we ask is that you are sociable and interested in photography. We welcome experienced and inexperienced photographers so don't be shy, come and talk to us.

Look at our programme, we meet most Tuesdays, and some Thursdays, at:
8.00pm at Irchester Village Hall, School Road, Irchester, Northants, NN29 7AW.
Tuesdays are the main meetings and are a mixture of talks, competitions and other presented events.
Thursdays are deemed 'practical sessions' and these are currently monthly where we get our cameras out and try different things and sometimes in different places!

We have around 40 members of varied experience in photography and software.
