A visit to Wellend Gliding Club, they only operate on a Saturday and Sunday, hopefully the weather will be more favourable this year, drinks and refreshments along with sandwiches served at a small additional small cost (bacon sandwich).
If anyone wishes to take a trip in a glider for a fee you will also be permitted to take a small camera
They are happy for us to visit on the Saturday or Sunday, I ask that you arrive before 10am to set up, due to the wind they won't know which side of the airfield they will be operating on
Location - It's on Harley Way, same road as National Trust Lyveden, there is a signpost to tell you
Drive down and bear off to the right and follow the road round to the left and parking is on the left
Also as an added bonus next to the gliding club there is a model club, they fly large model aircraft, helicopters and vehicles around
Message from Highways
From 21 June to 14 July there will be a temporary road closure affecting one of the routes to Lyveden.
Access from the Oundle/A427 direction via the Benefield Road will be closed. However, Lyveden will remain open throughout and can be reached via Harley Way from the A6116/Brigstock direction
